Cactus Spectaculus
In the garden of my old family home we had all sorts of treasures: gardenias (my mum’s favourite), lavender, an African violet with the most heavenly perfume which only flowered once a year, a giant jacaranda you could climb and which in spring turned the lawn into a stunning purple carpet, a variety of roses whose petals I would delight in pulling off (much to my mother’s horror)...

aSilos at Sundown
As a teenager catching a train each day to school in Newtown I’d strategically pick which side of the train I sat on. Because I’m O.C.D you may ask? Well sort of… but the main reason was to secure a prime view of the Summer Hill Silos. I was absolutely transfixed by these cylindrical monuments! Especially coming home in the afternoon as the sun was sinking, they became majestic...

The Curiosities of Sydney
Here are some photos taken a couple of months back now. I had just dug my old Canon EOS out from the depths of my storage cupboard and was feeling very inspired by the hints of spring popping up in day to day life. The wisteria in Hyde Park… and of course the magnolia tree I pass every single day on my way to work. Pinks and purples as stand alone colours don’t usually do...
